Welcome to North Road!

North Road is home to the largest Korean shopping district in Canada, with over 180 Korean businesses and services, spas and medicine clinics-all waiting to serve you. While some people refer to us as "K-Town" others call us "Coffee City" because we have so many on-trend specialty cafes to enjoy.  We think these are just some of the components that make us "Uniquely Cool".

Do you remember the show "Wok with Yan"? We are home to his famous, award winning eatery - Yan's Chinese Garden Restaurant, along with 20 other international restaurants - all up and down North Road.  If you want to escape your home and have a vintage dining experience  with the family, White Spot still features an old school drive-in restaurant with car hops. Another fan favourite is Pho Japolo & Sushi- chef Jacki has been serving up a ton of  delicious favourites for more than 20 years. All of our restaurants are currently open for pick up / delivery during this time of lock down.

We have a ton of social media contests going on right now - where you can enter to win gift cards to some of our businesses like our BC Signature Liquor Store, Save On Foods, Shoppers Drug Mart, our restaurants and services. How would you like to win $100 to put toward a car repair or to get your accounting done? Click on one of the social media icons to see what we have going on this week.

Location, location, location! We are a popular destination for those looking to relocate from all corners of the world because of  our variety of international businesses and services, as well as our close proximity to many elementary, secondary and post secondary schools. While most are within walking distance, world class Simon Fraser University is just a couple of stops away by skytrain!

North Road is the dividing line between the cities of Burnaby (to the west) and Coquitlam (to the east), and both cities on either side of the road are working hard to accomodate the estimated 3,000 people who have been moving to the GVRD every month by building homes for you to rent or buy, in every budget category.

It is easy to live here and enjoy a great lifestyle. You can get to your school or place of employment and enjoy an easy commute by skytrain or car. If you're on foot, you can take the skytrain to the Lougheed stop, walk over one block to North Road and there you are! Additionally, we are on the major arterials Lougheed Hwy and North Road, so accessibility by car is easy.  Come see for yourself why we are surprising, rewarding, Uniquely Cool North Road.

Community Partners and Programs

Community Partners are important groups who really invest in the growth and development of an area by contributing to programming. We are well served by significant community partners like the City of Burnaby, the Burnaby RCMP, Transit Police and the Burnaby Board of Trade. We also have a long and mutually beneficial relationship with local highschool Burnaby Mountain and Cameron Rec and support programs in turn.
